On a recent trip, we came across these gigantic cacti. I had never seen such a large cactus before and I was awestruck by its age and size. Purposely choosing this angle from below and narrowing the perspective as it stretches to the dramatic clouds drifting by in the sky, you can get a sense of its scale. Filled with vibrant colors and dragging my paint in swirling, diagonal patterns add to the energy and joy of the scene.

Capturing the excitement and energy I feel while being immersed in the nature, "Counting Time" is loaded with vibrant autumn colors, extremely thick textured paint, movement and spontaneity. Peeling, knotted aspen trees stretch deeper and deeper into the woods, counting time as their foliage dances in the breeze creating an uptempo rhythm and filling the forest with its gorgeous symphony.
This series or Texas wildflowers, bearded irises and ruby red poppies, incorporates extremely thick paint applied with palette knife along with drips and swirls to add energy and whimsy. This gives the paintings a 3D feel that comes alive and jumps off the canvas, while adding joy and color to your room. If you'd like to see companion pieces in the series, please e-mail me to see my other options.

I painted "Spring Forward" while visiting the Texas Hill Country. The explosion of color along roadsides was incredible! This morning the sun kept peeking in and out of the clouds, creating a soft glow to everything it touched. I wanted to capture that magical light illuminating your journey lined by bluebonnets and Indian paintbrush. I hope you, too, can feel the excitement of springtime with the wildflowers abloom!

Follow the path leading you through bright, smiling sunflower faces as big as dinner plates, filling you with more joy with each step. A quaint stone farmhouse in the distance welcomes you to come in and enjoy the view as the sun starts to set over the horizon and cast its late day glow. Full of warmth, color and texture, my hope is that when you gaze into this piece, it lifts your spirits and brightens up any spot in your home.
