One thing I love about our RV is the freedom to stay the night right there in the middle of Mother Nature.Those gnarly Joshau trees are fascinating. Almost other-worldly, it's like they've emerged froma science fiction page.

Staring up reminds me of childhood, not a care in teh world, pausing with awe and wonder. CAmpint under the stars, surrounded by the cosmos sparks the imagination and stirs my soul.

What's out there? Where do we fit in? What if? What if? What if?

Moving to a small town, I've become fascinated with the night sky. Livingin big cities there was so much light pollution that we rarely saw stars. Now constellations mesmerize my imagination. While just a speck here, there is also a sense of bing connected to the whole universe.

This massive pine bridges our connection and reminds us of the wonder we felt as kids staring into the treetops and dreaming about the cosmos beyond. I hope you enjoy the enchanting journey with me.

Enjoying the concert of aspen leaves rustling in the breeze and the beauty of fall ablaze with color, I felt invigorated as I began painting this aspen forest. The setting was so mesmerizing and rejuvenating that I wanted to communicate that joyful feeling of discovery. Filling the canvas with energetic staccato strokes and bold colors, in addition to gently arching the tree trunks reaching towards the sky, all add to that uplifting feeling of being immersed in nature's symphony.

Didn't you love laying on the ground as a kid, looking up into the treetops, watching the clouds drift by? What's in that one? Is it a face? an animal? Brocooli? Yuck!

I hope you enjoy the escape with me in this one as you peer through the eye of the canopy. With a nod and wink to Fibinacci, natures mathematical patterns are truly fascinating!

I love these woods next to my house. Listening to the birds chirping and squirrels scurrying with the occasional wood-pecker pecking is so relaxing. Then, there's something magical about the sun as it twinkles and bursts through the leaves forming golden rays, bathing everything they touch. Gazing up with childlike fascination, awe fills my senses and I want to share that peace and wonder with you.

Capturing Vermont's Fall Foliage with Palette Knife Painter Niki Gulley

The color explosion in northern Vermont was out of this world, and I just had to capture its fleeting beauty.  So, we found a nice big place to park the RV and I was able to work larger again today. The reds were so vibrant and intense on this maple that it had to be my focus. Feeling like a kid with the excitement of the colors, I chose this uplifting view reminiscent of laying on the ground as a child and staring up into the treetops and sky. Totally lost in the moment and not a care in the world, I hope you are transported to a similar happy memory from your youth!

Painted on location in Acadia National Park, we discovered this beautiful spot alongside the road with plenty of room to park our RV, which isn't always easy to find a spot large enough. The birches were starting to turn colors and I loved this peaceful lake view. I hope it transports you to serenity, too!
