Painted on location in the Texas Hill Country, I was drawn to this expansive mass of bluebonnets and wildflowers, stretching along the foreground of this scenic overlook. The explosion of cheerful color made me feel so happy that I wanted to capture that joy and excitement in my painting for you. Long sweeping shapes flow across the canvas to add to the feeling of peace and happiness as you're being surrounded by Texas Wildflowers on a beautiful spring day.

Just Sold! This spring I was invited to paint on this beautiful ranch south of Dallas. I loved the contrast of the red barn doors against the sea of blue wildflowers and the azure skies above. Full of texture and character, I wanted to capture its essence on that beautiful spring day. While the air was still crisp, the sun was warming the ground, causing the foreground to glow and welcoming in spring.

I wanted to capture the rhythm, color, and density of our beautiful blooms in Texas as they spread their joy across the landscape. From bluebonnets carpeting the hills at the first sign of spring to vibrant poppies casting their energy as the season starts to flow into summer. Next, plentiful sunflowers greet you as the days turn longer, lifting your spirits with their smiling faces. Finally, the amazing aromas of lavender fill the air as summer kicks into full swing.
