Magical light flows around them casting its warm glow and hope for the upcoming day. As the sun illuminates the horizon, bluebonnets and a kaleidoscope of blooms sparkle and dance across the canvas. Just Sold! This spring I was invited to paint on this beautiful ranch south of Dallas. I loved the contrast of the red barn doors against the sea of blue wildflowers and the azure skies above. Full of texture and character, I wanted to capture its essence on that beautiful spring day. While the air was still crisp, the sun was warming the ground, causing the foreground to glow and welcoming in spring.

Enjoying the concert of aspen leaves rustling in the breeze and the beauty of fall ablaze with color, I felt invigorated as I began painting this aspen forest. The setting was so mesmerizing and rejuvenating that I wanted to communicate that joyful feeling of discovery. Filling the canvas with energetic staccato strokes and bold colors, in addition to gently arching the tree trunks reaching towards the sky, all add to that uplifting feeling of being immersed in nature's symphony.

In this painting I wanted to create a dream-like feel using one of my favorite flowers, the poppy. There is something awe-inspiring about the transformation of a single dainty flower into a dense explosion of vibrant, energetic crimson that delights your senses and lifts your spirits. Arranging the wildflower masses in the foreground to create waves of color and repeating those curving shapes throughout the landscape add to a sense of joyful harmony and tranquility.
