“Cultivating Aromas” ©2017 Niki Gulley
SOLD • 20” x 30” acrylic on canvas

Just sold! The lavender fields in Provence are incredible – perfectly manicured rows and rows of an explosion of violet as far as the eye can see. Rippling purple rows draw your eye to the lone stone farmhouse in the distance while clouds drift by also in rhythmic waves, both creating a flowing harmony. Perspective lines converge, leading you to this joyful spot and I hope you can smell the amazing aromas and feel your spirits lifted while gazing into this scene!

Palette Knife Iris Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Flowing into Spring III" ©2017 Niki Gulley
24" x 12" textured oil painting on wrap around canvas • Lee Park, Dallas

Painted on location at Lee Park in Dallas, I loved how the irises signaled that spring was in full bloom. Standing tall, anchoring this corner of the creek these purple blooms lead your eye up through the canvas, along the water's edge to the stone bridge in the distance. The soft light adds to the peacefulness of this tranquil spot, and I hope all of your cares are transported away while lifting your spirits.

"Vertical Aromas" Palette Knife Lavender Field Painting by Niki Gulley

"Vertical Aromas" ©2017 Niki Gulley
SOLD • 24" x 12" textured mixed media painting on wrap around canvas

Just Sold! The lavender fields in Provence are incredible – perfectly manicured rows and rows of an explosion of violet as far as the eye can see. I wanted to try something different in this painting, arranging the purple waves vertically to draw your eye up to the stone farmhouse in the distance. Meanwhile wispy clouds drift by and perspective lines all converge, leading you to this joyful, peaceful spot. I hope you can smell the amazing aromas and  feel your spirits lifted while gazing into this scene!

New 12" x 12" Palette Knife Aspen Tree Painting by Contemporary Impressionist Niki Gulley

"Autumn Hues II" ©2016 Niki Gulley
SOLD • 12" x 12" oil on canvas

Just Sold!  I painted these autumn aspen trees with palette knife and extremely thick paint. I love how the chunky paint adds to the texture of the bark and the movement in the leaves. The painting continues around the edges of the wrap around canvas for a sculptural-like frameless piece of art.

These aspens and birches look great hung alone to brighten up a little spot, or in a grouping with some of my other 12x12 trees. Hang them horizontally, vertically, on a diagonal or stacked. If interested in seeing companion pieces, please e-mail Niki Gulley for options.

New "Spring's Glory," Texas Hill Country oil painting by Niki Gulley

"Spring’s Glory," Texas Hill Country ©2016 Niki Gulley
36” x 60” textured oil painting on gallery wrap canvas

“Spring’s Glory” was inspired by a trip to the Texas Hill Country. The spring conditions were perfect, and the bluebonnets were amazing! While we were near Fredericksburg, we took a scenic drive along the Willow City Look and as we approached the top of a hill about half way around, we were greeted by this gorgeous view of the rolling hills and bluebonnets in full bloom. Then, to top it off the sun was setting in the distance casting its golden glow and backlighting the wildflowers. I had to capture the magical moment, enhancing the kaleidoscope of colors in the sky and along the ground. Arranging clouds, the road and rows of bluebonnets in rhythmic sweeping shapes to create a harmonious landscape that flows with light, texture and color, and suggest a feeling of optimism about what’s to come.

New "Into the Woods" Palette Knife Fall Foliage oil painting by Niki Gulley

“Into the Woods" ©2016 Niki Gulley
SOLD • 9" x 12"" textured oil painting

Just Sold!  I painted "Into the Woods" on location when we visited New England last fall during the height of fall foliage. The kaleidoscope of autumn colors was ablaze, and I was attracted to the dappled light sneaking through small gaps in the forested canopy, illuminating the winding path. Painted with palette knife and thick oil paint, this landscape is filled with color, movement and energy!
