My purple irises have such an amazing depth of color this spring. It seems even richer when it is contrasted against the lacy white edges of the bloom. With this blossom, I decided to focus on a birds-eye view above the Iris so that you could see its beauty from a new perspective.

After two years of mediocre results, this year my irises really took off. I had an incredible variety of colors, with a few different shades of purple that incorporated whites and burgundies, alongs with some yellow ones just to mix things up.

Along with a great carpet of Bluebonnets this year, were the varied colors of Indian Paintbrush. I saw everything from orange to pink and red, as well of every color in-between. This provided a great contrast amid the rich blue hues.

We had one of those perfect years for bluebonnets, just enough water and the right temperatures to make for a bumper crop of flowers. I traveled down to the hill country earlier this year and out to Ennis just recently in order to capture them in all of their dazzling brilliance.

This spring has seen an explosion of color in my garden, so I decided to jump right in and capture it in all of its glory. My roses have been especially vibrant, running the spectrum from pink and reds, to coral and peach, and some yellows with pink edges. Every one presents me with a new opportunity to explore their intricacies and be creative.
